OUR HISTORY

For 17 years this space was known as Hemingway’s

For 17 years this space was known as Hemingway’s — a familiar part of daily life in Wimbledon Village.

From the beginning it was a heart-led business, created to be welcoming, personal and genuinely part of the neighbourhood. People celebrated birthdays here, met after work, stopped in on the school run and returned again and again. Many guests came to think of it as a 'home from home' — somewhere easy to walk into and comfortable to stay.

During the COVID period, when daily life paused, we remained open whenever we could do so safely. The space became somewhere neighbours could see another human being, share a conversation and feel a sense of normality. At that time we were recognised locally as a cornerstone and the heartbeat of the village — something we have always taken seriously.

We are proud to remain the only independent, locally owned bar in Wimbledon Village, and we believe independence allows a place to reflect the people who use it.

Over the years one thing became clear: guests weren’t only coming for food and drink. They were coming for connection.

People wanted somewhere they could come alone without feeling alone. Somewhere relaxed, social and welcoming throughout the day and into the evening.

ELEMEN7S is the natural evolution of that.

The name reflects transformation — not a replacement of what was here, but a progression shaped by the community that has filled the space for nearly two decades. Beyond the physical elements of a venue, it is people who give it life.

Our aim is simple: to put the heartbeat back into Wimbledon Village — a place where people feel comfortable walking in and connected when they leave.
